5. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.Programme) in Dance and Music | |||||
The Department of Dance and Music offer Ph.D.Programmes (Full-Time & Part-Time) recognized by the Bharathidasan University , Tiruchirappalli. This is the first and the only college in the Southern Region that offers Ph.D. Programme in Dance. Candidates who possess Master’s Degree with not less than 55% of marks are eligible to apply as Full-Time (three years)/ Part-Time (four years). There shall be four sessions of registration, in January, April, July and October. |

6. PART-TIME COURSES | |||||
Part-Time courses in Bharathanatyam (dance) and South Indian Classical Music are given from 1983 onwards through KALAI KAVIRI SCHOOL OF FINE ARTS.An average of 800 students learn in these 4-year Certificate and 2-year Diploma Courses. Part-Time Courses in Mohiniyattam the classical dance of Kerala and Painiting are also conducted. On completion of these courses, the students are given an opportunity to perform on the stage-Arangetram (stage performance). They are awarded with Kalai Kaviri Certificate. We have introduced since 2005-2006 a special one year full time certificate course (not affiliated to the university in Dance & Music.

7. SUMMER COURSES | |||||
One-month Summer Courses in dance and music are given during the month of May for the past four consecutive years in order to help the children have fruitful holidays. On completion of this course, they are issued with the certificate “Kalai Ilaval”.

INTERVIEW (Aptitude Test)
|

The applicants will be called for an interview. The members of the Board will assess the aptitude of the candidates, based on which the selection will be made. All certificates in Original should be produced at the time of interview. Selected candidates will have to pay the fees on or before the specified date. Fees once paid are not refundable. Admission is subject to verification of marks certificates by the Director of Government Examinations and if any certificate is found to be bogus, admission is liable for cancellation besides criminal action being taken. |

Applicants must take sufficient number of attested copies of their S.S.L.C. and Higher Secondary marks sheets, before submitting the Originals at the College Office. The above originals will not be returned to the students during the course.

SCHOLORSHIPS AND FEE CONCESSIONS FEE CONCESSIONS The state government awards full fee concession (i.e) Tuition fees, special fees, and Examination fees up to degree level to all students belonging to (i) Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and SC/ST Converts to Christianity and (ii) to all students belonging to Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities, regardless of the annual income of Parents / Guardians. These students must remit their Special Fees and Examination Fees and get reimbursed in their scholarship claim. All students belonging to SC / ST (including converts to Christianity) studying Post – Graduated courses are eligible for full fee concession (i.e. Tuition Fees only) regardless of the annual income of Parent/ Guardian. SCHOLARSHIPS The state Government awards scholarships to the Backward, Most Backward and Denotified Community (including Converts to Christianity from SC /ST) students whose Parent’s / Guardian annual income is below Rs. 50,000/- AWARD OF FREE EDUCATION Those who apply for Government of India Scholarships/ State Government Scholarships must have 75% or more of attendance previous studies for fresh or renewal of scholarship. SC /ST LOAN SCHOLARSHIPS Students belonging to SC / ST (including Converts Christianity) who are staying in the College Hostels are eligible Loan Scholarships. Annual income limit is below Rs.50,000/- SC / ST BRIGHT AWARD Those who belonging to SC /ST and converted Christians from SC and studying first year P.G. after passing the Degree in the first attempt, securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks are eligible to apply for SC Bright Award. There is no income limit for further renewal. |
